The Chapter One Big Give Christmas Challenge - fundraising ideas

We've created a pack with everything you need to support our campaign: key dates, fundraising ideas and ready-to-use resources

The Big Give Christmas Challenge: 1-8 December

Chapter One is taking part in the Big Give Christmas Challenge, where we have the opportunity for donations made via the Big Give platform during the campaign week (1-8 December) to be match funded - doubling their impact!

This year we are seeking donations to support children's reading through our new award-winning Book Club Programme. Book Clubs are an exciting key addition to the one-to-one support our corporate volunteers provide through our flagship Online Reading Volunteers Programme. They aim to help children at a later stage of their reading journey - children who can already read but choose not to. With your support, we're aiming to raise £11,000 (which can become £22,000 with match funding) - enough to cover over 100 Book Club places for children who might otherwise disengage from reading. The funds raised will support the delivery of our Book Clubs planned to start during the 2027 calendar year in London, Birmingham and Doncaster. Any funds raised above our target will support future Book Clubs or our other reading programmes.

How you can get involved

We've put together a Corporate Fundraising Ideas Pack - full of fun, festive activities that are perfect for workplace fundraising in the lead-up to, or during, the campaign week (1-8 December). Whether it's a Christmas bake sale, a ‘Guess the Weight’ challenge, a festive quiz or any other creative idea, every pound raised up to £11,000 will be doubled!
